Very Pleased. My new T101 Treadmill arrived yesterday via ABF. The driver brought the box in the house on a dolly. The box is very heavy. I placed the box, flat, top up, close to where the treadmill will live, and opened it. Instruction manual was right on top. I simply followed instructions for assembly. The instructions also include unpacking hints. Though the unit is very heavy, assembly is easy; just four basic operations and you’re done. Once assembled the unit can be rolled around fairly easy. All tools needed for assembly and future maintenance are included.
Before use the running belt must be lubricated and will require lubrication every 150 miles. Lubricant for two applications is included. Instructions for loosening the belt, lubricating, tightening and adjusting both tension and centering are straight forward. Everything works as stated.
The unit is solid and feels very stable. I weigh about 200 pounds. Other than the swish of the belt, the unit is quite with no rattles. My first impression is that this unit is first rate. If it endures it is definitely worth the price.

This Best-Selling Treadmill tend to SELL OUT VERY FAST!!

Review by Lauren “Lauren”
After a lot of research I ordered this treadmill and have had it for a few weeks now. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. I think it was a good value and has many features that I like, and a few that I don’t.

- It was very easy to assemble. The delivery guy told my husband to remove it from the box before moving it, I told my husband I thought it was suggested in reviews to leave it in the box until ready to assemble but he decided to listen to the delivery guy… I definitely suggest, if possible, leaving the treadmill in the box while moving it to where it will be assembled! After that, assembly was quick and easy.
- According to the assembly directions you are supposed to oil the belt before use, easier said then done. It took a long time to get the belt back to the correct tightness/alignment. What annoyed me was repeatedly in the user guide it said that the unit came correctly aligned/centered. Rub in the fact that the treadmill was perfect until you told me to mess with it?
- Very easy to use, the presets are great and it’s easy to adjust speed by .1 increments. I had no problem figuring out the different buttons and using the treadmill.
- The fan is a nice feature but I’m 5’5 and all it fans is my forehead, would be great if it were adjustable.
- MP3 line in is a nice feature to have, especially as it includes the MP3 cable, but it’s definitely not great sound and is worse than a small shower MP3 speaker. Don’t buy this treadmill excited for the MP3 hookup or you’ll probably be disappointed.
- My real reason for rating this Horizon T101 treadmill 4 stars instead of 5 is that the hood (front part) of the treadmill rubs on the belt when the belt is running. I’ve tried loosening the hood, lifting it up and then re-tightening it but it’s not the greatest fix. It’s really loud when the hood rubs the belt, and I can’t imagine it’s great for the belt.
I think overall in this price-range and for the quality and features this treadmill is a good buy.

I planned my purchase very carefully. I must’ve taken months to decide which treadmill I wanted. I could not afford an $1000 machine so I looked into some between $300-$600. The reason I chose this particular one was that it had a place to plug in your MP3 player/iPod with speakers, it had a fan and the horsepower was 2.25 continuous (the higher the better, especially for someone that plans to run on theirs). It also received the runner up best buy treadmill award for the price range. With my research it seemed that Horizon beat out Proform also.
I got my treadmill about a month ago. I waited to write this review because I think you need to use what you are reviewing for awhile. If you are hasty about writing the review, what if your first impression is wrong. My treadmill was delivered on the day I chose for delivery and in the time frame. The delivery men even carried it up 2 flights of stairs to my bedroom for me. I felt bad because I had no cash so I couldn’t tip them. And I did not expect more than a box left at my front door. So an extra thank you to the very kind delivery men. Once it was in my bedroom, I took the box apart and followed the instructions to put it together. I started doing it all by myself. I consider myself a handy lady. I have put together a number of things before. Really all you have to do is attach the sides and the control panel. When my husband came home, he helped me assemble the rest.
The one thing that I have to mention is the belt. It was a pain in the butt to get straight. You have to lube the belt before using it. Although, the belt is already in the correct position. So my suggestion is when you go to loosen it, loosen it one turn at a time and remember the amount of turns on both sides. This way when you go to tighten them back, you can just turn them the same amount to where they originally were. That was my biggest mistake. I did not do that. I could not get the belt straightened for the life of me. we tired for an hour that night to no avail. The next day I tried again for an hour. Then I asked a friend for help. They tried for an hour. I thought they had gotten it. When they left I used it for 20 minutes. The belt remained in position. But when I used it a second time for 20 minutes, it veered to the right. So I called the company because I seriously thought that after a total of 3 hours (no exaggerating either) there was no way that this thing would get straightened. I spoke with someone that walked me through turning the screws. NO joke. He said ‘turn the right one a half turn. Now what does the belt look like’. It went on for almost an hour. Finally it was straight and it has stayed straight ever since. I fear the next time I have to lube the belt, but at least I know now to keep track of every turn. Hopefully that will make the next time a breeze.
I love this treadmill. Using Horizon T101 is awesome. I love being able to listen to music and control my iPod while using it. The fan doesn’t really cool you down much so I really don’t use it. But if you run, it’s better than nothing. I usually mix things up. So I have used the manual mode, intervals and weight loss. I always use the cool down afterwards. The cool down is really wimpy too. I think depending what speed and incline you were at when you push it, will determine the speed and incline your cool down starts at. Sometimes it will only go 0.5 mph. The treadmill belt barely moves at that. So I like to make sure I am going faster when I press cool down because it’s hard to walk THAT slow.
All in all, I think this was the best treadmill for me. I think you will love it too. Just remember what I said regarding the belt.
I almost forgot….the feather lift system is awesome. You can unfold it easily by using your foot to unlatch the lock and begin lowering it down. It will automatically go down to the ground without you needing to lower it completely yourself. It goes slow enough so that it won’t just clunk down to the ground. Also lifting it is a breeze. It is super light weight. I am not that strong.
