Horizon T101 Treadmill Review
I know many satisfied user of this treadmill, you can read some of honest reviews below. Hope it can helps you to make the right buying decision about this Horizon T101 treadmill.By jcvar.
We got this unit at Christmas 2010 and have put about 40 miles per week on it since. Overall we like it. Balancing price and performance, I give this 4 stars. I was concerned about buying it from Amazon because it was so big but it worked out great. Assembly was pretty easy but I’m comfortable with such assembly. The unit looks good. Basically, it’s a good unit for the price. It gets the job done. I only have a few nits which follow. I would recommend the unit. I really like the integrated speakers and cable to hook my ipad in to so I can watch movies while I walk/jog. Since I’ve said I like the unit, let me just focus on what I don’t like for my detailed comments…We already done the research and spend a lot of time for you. 1) The belt assembly can be moderately noisy in a “I may not last too long” sort of way
This may be due it the belt needing adjustment but I find it makes a ticking sound sometimes and it isn’t simple to adjust the belt. Well, it’s simple, but not simple to ensure it is in balance. I think this should be easier to get right if it’s an issue of belt tension. It’s sort of by feel.
2) The console has a fan in it that is useless due to the angle the output points
The three-speed fan is a great idea. The problem is even at my 6’1″ height I only feel a little bit of wind on the top of my head. If you are shorter, you’ll feel nothing. Our solution was just to set up a floor fan nearby but it would be a simple fix for them to make the air point at the user’s body. Why don’t they?
3) I don’t like the “beeps” the thing makes
I guess most exercise equipment uses the irritating beeps to signal you but I don’t like it. It seems so cheap. Why not a slightly higher end feedback system. This is so 1990s. A chime, a voice… anything would be better.
4) The power switch on the base instead of the console is annoying
This thing has a pretty decent console and a safety cable so why put the power switch in the base. Every time we use it we have to climb in front of it on our knees down near the floor to turn the power on. Why not have the on/off switch on the console?
5) It’s a little narrow for me
I’m 6’1″, 201 #s so, admittedly, not a small person. Still, I have an athletic build, not a heavy build, and nevertheless, I find I hit my arms or body on the handles sometime. Not a deal breaker, just a nit. Interesting, there were some cautions about the deck not being long enough for a long stride. I haven’t had issues with that.
So, all in all, this is a solid unit. I’d recommend it (and just offer the caveats above)
